Some of the actions taking in this story were made by a desperate man who didn't care anymore, please do not try this at home
I hope everybody had a great summer. Mine was pretty busy but very awesome, until I about 3 weeks ago when I decided to sit down on a rainy day to play a few games any maybe get started on a game review or 2. I grabbed a wiimote with a fresh pair of batteries and settled into my favorite chair. I hit the power button expect to see my favorite theme but instead all I got was a blank screen.
"Hmmm, must be something wrong with my system menu." I thought
So I shut the wii down and rebooted holding the reset button expecting to see priiloader but still got nothing, then I tried load HBC from bootmii and ...nothing.
"Lets try a Nand backup" I mumbled
So I picked one of my many backups and loaded bootmii/boot2 a proceeded with restoring my nand. Then I rebooted my wii and Tada!! and system menu.
"Awesome, lets play some games now"
WRONG!! I tried loading wiiflow and got nothing but black, I tried running HBC and got nothing but black. So, HBC is broken and so is wiiflow, and wiimc, and my emus.
"Great, I'm going to have to check/reinstall all my Cios's and HBC" I said to myself
So I did, and "Yay, I can play games again, but its getting late and I need to get up early tomorrow."
So I shut everything down to get some rest. The following night I had some free time so I thought I would sit down and play some games. WRONG!!! AGAIN!! I load up the wii and try to boot wiiflow and get nothing but black.
"Not again!!!" I said with a sour tone
So I decide to running a syscheck and reinstall my ios's and cios's and what not. The only problem was that now, my wii wasn't connecting to my router. So I decided to check my internet settings but as I clicked on the wii settings button all I got was black accompanied by some delightful wii backround music.
"Hmmm, something is wrong here, lets reinstall my system menu"
So I did, and nothing changed, what was wrong? This was not making any sense to me. Anyway, to make a long story a little short, I spent the following 2 weeks staying up late a night, sleeping very little, trying different nand backups various other things to try and rectify the problem. Until I went nuts and said
"Screw it!! Im deleting everything!!"
I loaded up ATD and erased everything, game saves, channels, hidden channels, every single ios, and the system menu. Anything that could be deleted was erased. I reinstall the first nand backup I made when I initially softmodded my wii and reinstalled all my apps and cios's, the new hbc etc. I even went as far and using the nintendo update so now I have all the latest ios's and system men 4.3 (I know it's not recommended but I did it as a testament of total disregard for anti-Homebrew politics)
My wii has been running fine for a week now although I haven't had a chance to really put it to the test, only time will tell but so far I happy it's working.
