None what-so-ever. This update was all about killing homebrew.

I'm on 4.1 and tried using this to update to 4.3. It errors with a "Download failed"error when it tries to download the Shopping Channel". Any ideas?

Yes... don't update to 4.3. Stay where you are. Install the shopping channel v19 with wad manager. Download it with NUS.

The only reason I could think of to update to 4.3 is to play Wii Discs at full speed.

Ninty turned the disc channel into a system update channel. Just to clarify (and solidify in my mind that 4.3 is completely useless), Wii Discs play at full speed in backup loaders anyway, right? I haven't found any definitive answer to that here or elsewhere, but I have seen some evidence that this is true.

What does updating to 4.3 have to do with disk read speed? Originals 6x - - Backup disks 3x - - USB Loading 8x

I don't know if they do or not, but if you want to find out, load SMG1 original disk via a loader such as neogamma. If it is playing at 6x, your should have no issue with the intro video/sound stutter. If it is playing at 3x, there will be a very noticeable video/sound stutter.

I have a question about this. I used wan's 4.2u safe updater previously and everything worked out fine (I still would rather have 4.1 though). Recently I tried a couple other things through HBC and my wii froze. No biggy, it happened a couple times before. So I did a hard reset and all I got was a black screen. I figured that it bricked somehow, so I reloaded my nand with bootmii only to find that the nintendo/weather/photo/shop channels had all disappeared from the menu.

I want to get GH and RB dlc working, so I figured that I need the shop channel. This leads to three questions:

Can you get the dlc working without the shop channel? (sorry it's not related to the post, I couldn't find it anywhere else)

Will this update restore the channels?

Can you safely downgrade from 4.3 to 4.1 after using this update? (since there is no way to downgrade from 4.2 to 4.1-the best sys menu )

Don't update! I dunno why people think this update will fix issues they are having. First , why would you update at ALL? It just a system menu, whats wrong with 4.2? Also saying that you need to update to 4.3 to downgrade to 4.1 says to me that you should not be messing around with downgrading. You can install the channels using DOP-Mii , or download them with NUS and install with Wad Manager.
    Damn I suck!!!!
