I'm sorry you didn't get your link until now, but we just wanted to stop you from making a big mistake. You gave us no reason to suspect you didn't intend on updating.
Heya, i do apologize, didn't mean it to sound as harsh as it came across. on the flip side, of what you pointed out, i just wanted the files to archive for myself... thats why i didn't mention anything about actually updating my Wii. I do believe in preserving articles with content, as is within reason, like this at the least for their historical value for what its worth. and just FYI: whats triggered that was countless forum articles on a motherboard (that company doesn't exist anymore) and i use for a file server, that had all kinds of custom firmwares but endless dead links ...and no, i'm not a crazy internet file hoarder, lol i don't keep everything. just the things that interest me. And with 8TB of free space to fill, why not, lol.

Fair enough. I have a lot of stuff that I don't use myself.

    Link worked for me

Worked for me just 2sec ago... in all fairness read through this post cause i have the feeling you are using the link on the first page and not using the updated link later in the post.

Will this install from HBC without a patched IOS? My wife has a nearly virgin, early revision Wii that's currently on 4.2U. Against her wishes I installed a modchip and HBC/Gecko for cheats but nothing else. She's pretty well against me doing anything to the Wii so I was just curious on the answer.

One day she went and updated the Wii from 4.1U to 4.2U without a word. I guess it's fair play. She said she isn't going to update again, but if there was a safer way that would retain the homebrew channel I might consider it. She hasn't even turned the thing on in about six months - I've got to get around to doing a full softmod on it. It's an early revision Wii that still supported Boot2 (assuming that the 4.2U update didn't kill that possibility).

Just block updates with Priiloader, then update the Shopping Channel manually.

Lightbulb I have some questions ?_?

i have a softmodded 4.1U wii. if i use this update what will i lose or should i not update and stay on 4.1? btw its needed to play Epic Mickey and my lil cousin wants to play it. Will this happen to the new zelda if another update occurs?
