Sunkey lite

Help....I had a Wii modded with an original Wii-Key. Worked great. That one ended up as a doorstop after a fire sprinkler system went off.

Got another Wii and had a friend put a Sunkey Lite in it. NOw very few of my back ups work. My question is, do I have to burn back-ups a special way for the Sunkey Lite. I have always used Memorex DVD+R and never had any problems. Usually burn the iso with imageburn at 1.5X.

Recommendations or suggestions greatly appreciated. Eitherer PM or on this thread would be great.

Thank you VERY VERY much in advance!

It could be a few things. Since it works sometimes it is a problem with your media.

Burning slower sometimes is worse than faster with the technology of the new burners and discs. Try burning at 4x or 8x and see if you get better results.

The other thing is your +R discs. Wiis generally prefer -R discs and for whatever reason some are extremely pickier than others. It sounds like either a picky wii drive or bad burn quality and boost up your disc burn speed

Us

even if I have a finiky drive, changing media and burn speed should do the trick? I sure hope so. I have a couple hundred back ups that my kids can't play. Thank you!

Absolutely!

When I started to mod I did my friends wii and I thought I killed the chip with the install because it wasn't working. After like 2 days of playing around I found out it was working all along. He just had a picky drive. I ended up keeping the same discs and speed but I flashed my DVD burner with the newest firmware and that did the trick.

Playing with media/burn speeds or updating burner firmware will solve your problem.

You have to make sure that you aren't burning any scrubbed discs (smaller .iso). Make sure your iso files are full dvd size.
