ok i think i have the way hopefully but one more question before i buy the memory card (scandisc) is 2 gig really enough or is that all the wii supports
I have done this with my psp and i am using a 4 gig card but on the wii tutorial it says 2 gig

2 GB Sandisk seems to provide almost 100% compatibility with all apps, including bootmii.

Depends on whether we are talking disc based games, scrubbed games or Wiiware/VC.
2GB is fine for most needs, it will store loads of Wiiware/VC, apps and stuff.
If you wish to use SD for storage of WBFS'd games then you'll need one just for that (8-32GB) really as you'll find they don't work with everything else homebew wise. Still more sense to buy a USB HDD though.

You can use disc or USB Hard disk to load your games.
