Us does drivekey have alot of real problems?

I mean real problems, not if you install it wrong. Such problems would be like reading ISO DVD's slowly, choppy gameplay, sound problems.

BTW, only Wii problems not GC.

I have had no problems with it. It runs pal and NTSC.. but some games need to be in NTSC to run. The other thing is that sometimes the disc is not readable and if I take it out and put it back it works. But that is rare. Maybe one time a week and I play every day after work !!!! I do not use Homebrew I just burn my games. I like having a DVD with the nice label. That being said I could not tell you but from reading the forums homebrew still works. I just dont like to take chances of bricking my wii so I stay to burning.

Based on the amount we've sold (thousands) against the amount that tell us they have problems (less than an handfull) I'd say its a pretty sure bet. We get people reporting all chips have problems include wasabidx (infact we had more issues reported with wasabidx than we did with drivekey but both problems seemed to be user related and fixing is usually simple).
The major issue that we saw with drivekey was in the early batch which has since been addressed. on some of them for whatever weird reason the user reported originals did not run unless the chip was disabled but backups ran fine. The fix to this is usually the cable needs to be replaced and or the silver cable needs to use a replacement cable as 4 traces on the cable are cut. The support we get from the drivekey team is above phenominal though, so I don't see any distributor giving you any problem at all exchanging a drivekey should it ever have a 'real' problem.

Just my 2 cents.

All ribbon type modchips, including DriveKey and the Wasabi DX, have problems with choppy video/audio in the intro movie sequences in certain games. This is the case with for example Super Mario Galaxy and WarioWare: Smooth Moves.

Fortunately it's just a few games that are affected, and even with those two games mentioned above, gameplay is normal speed.

Don't take it as read that any "distributor" exchanging your Drivekey, my experience with 360upgrades was quite the reverse, they would not exchange or refund my faulty Drivekey until I returned it to DriveKey themselves and received a working one at which time I could return the new working one (with proof) to 360upgrades for refund or exchange.
360upgrades are an online store so whether they are classed as distributers is something else, but either way they were happy to breach their own terms and conditions.
Lucky for me I just caught the deadline for the return of faulty units back to Drivekey who replaced mine within two weeks.

QUESTION, if you have a modchip installed but run the above games from the original DVD will you still experience those issues or will it be only with the back up DVD?
