Its hard to say, I do not know the range of serial numbers when the epoxy was added. Worst case is you cant use the clip and you need to solder the d2pro - if you are not happy doing it - then dont screw up the drive board, get someone local to you to do it.
The clips are so sensitive, I do not think they would fit well, even if all the epoxy was cleaned off - you will need to solder
Only way is to pop the cover and check the chip
