hmm.. it either could be the modchip loose and if he has a d2c wii then that's your problem.
Or it could be the media try burning at lowest speed possible, and if that doesn't work try memorex ones. As you can see in the attachment different types of media work on different types of wiis because memorex worked best on that guy but verbatim was proven to work too.
