rawdump can be pretty finicky. The only other dumping software I know of is friidump.

Whenever rawdump gives me an error, I usually try the following things:
1. Put the dvd drive on its side (I have an external drive). For some reason, this works sometimes.
2. Put the dvd drive upside down.
3. Clean the disc.

I've found that when the dump stops consistently at a certain point, it's usually because the disc is too scratched up.
