most of the decent chips are all solderless so your point becomes invalid.

Solderless Chips are reversible, homebrew can be detected by nintendo. Chips are low maintenance.

like the dude said above, if your hacking your wii, who gives a shit about your warranty its most likely not valid. Want to keep your warranty, buy your games.
